After delivery
Some methods can be started soon after birth, including while breastfeeding. Doctors usually advise waiting at least 18 months after a birth before the next pregnancy.
Choosing a method
The right method depends on your health, whether you are breastfeeding, how long you want to delay pregnancy, and your preferences. Every method has some side effects, and you can switch if one does not suit you.
Common questions
Is family planning advice confidential?+
Yes. Consultations are private and one-to-one.
Will contraception affect my fertility later?+
Most methods do not. Fertility returns soon after stopping, though it can take a few months after injections.
